Licences & credits
Quix is built on open data, open images and open-source software. This page lists every source we use, its licence, and what that licence asks of us. Picture questions also show their own credit under the image.
Facts behind generated questions
- Wikidata (wikidata.org): films, TV, music, games, anime, people, places, sport, technology. Creative Commons CC0 1.0 (public domain dedication).
- Cricsheet (cricsheet.org): ball-by-ball cricket data behind IPL, World Cup, Test and player questions. CC BY 4.0. Credit: Cricsheet.
- openfootball (github.com/openfootball): leagues, cups and results. Public domain (CC0 1.0).
- OurAirports (ourairports.com): airport codes. Public domain.
- Natural Earth (naturalearthdata.com), India point-of-view edition: country outlines. Public domain.
- Computed questions (mental maths, sequences, calendars, conversions, music theory): generated by Quix, no third-party data.
Question banks
- Open Trivia Database (opentdb.com) contributors. CC BY-SA 4.0. Questions from this source, and our edits to them, stay under CC BY-SA 4.0.
- OpenTriviaQA (github.com/uberspot/OpenTriviaQA) contributors. CC BY-SA 4.0, same terms.
- Exam GK, India, country, sport and other written packs: written by the Quix team and fact-checked against the reference linked to each question.

Photos and pictures
- Animals, birds and plants: photos by iNaturalist observers who released them with no rights reserved (CC0 1.0), via inaturalist.org. The observer is named under each picture.
- Sportspeople, monuments and places: photos from Wikimedia Commons under public domain, CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA licences. The photographer and licence are shown under each picture, and CC BY-SA photos remain under that licence.
- Space: NASA, ESA and partner imagery in the public domain, credited under each picture.
- Artworks: open-access images from The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Rijksmuseum (CC0 1.0).
- Flags: flag-icons by Panayiotis Lipiridis (github.com/lipis/flag-icons), MIT licence.
- Topic illustrations, avatars, badges and the Quix mark: original artwork made for Quix.
Sound and type
- Music and sound effects: original, generated for Quix.

Trademarks
Names of companies, products, teams, leagues, shows and events appear in questions for identification only. They belong to their owners, and Quix is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. No team crests, brand logos or film stills are used.
