How scoring works in Quix
Every Quix match is ten questions with ten seconds each. Being right matters most, but being right fast, and staying right, is how you win close games.
Points for each question
- Correct answer: 1,000 points. A wrong answer or no answer scores nothing, and your first tap locks in, so read all four options.
- Speed bonus: up to 200 points. The bonus shrinks steadily while the clock runs: answer the moment the question appears for close to the full 200, near the buzzer for almost none.
- Streak bonus: 25 points per right answer in a row, up to 100. Three correct in a row means your fourth is worth an extra 75.
The closing rounds count more
Like the best quiz shows, the end of the match is where games are won. In a ten-question match:
| Questions | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| 1 to 7 | ×1 |
| 8 and 9 | ×2 (double points) |
| 10, the final question | ×3 |
The multiplier applies to everything you earned on that question, bonuses included, so a lightning-fast final answer on a streak is worth well over 3,000 points. Shorter custom rooms of five questions or fewer use a simpler rule: only the last question counts double.
Tips to score higher
- Pick topics you know well for ranked matches, and use practice against a Quixbot for new ones.
- Don't panic-tap early in the match: a wrong answer breaks your streak, and the big points come at the end.
- Save your nerve for questions 8 to 10. A comeback from far behind is very possible.
Frequently asked questions
What is the maximum score in a Quix match?
Just under 18,000. Answer all ten instantly and correctly and you score 8,850 over the first seven questions (the streak bonus builds up to 100), then 2,600, 2,600 and 3,900 on the double and triple rounds: 17,950 in total.
Do wrong answers lose points?
No. A wrong answer scores zero for that question and resets your streak, but never takes points away.
